The Art of Living’s - Student Excellence & Learning Program (SELP) delivered by Vyakti Vikas Kendra India (VVKI) was organised at Sagar Institute of Science, Technology and Research® (SISTec-R) with great enthusiasm and active student participation during 2nd to 6th March, 2020. The program was sponsored by National Project Implementation Unit (NPIU) under Third phase of Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme (TEQIP-III) for Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya (RGPV) affiliated institutions. SISTec-R was the first in the whole state to host a program of such merit.


The objective of this workshop which is exclusively for the students of TEQIP-III institutions is to develop personality, eliminate mental stress, and improve the physical health of students. The modules in the program improve the overall performance of the students by boosting confidenceenhancing creativity & developing leadership skills in them. This program creates a sense of harmony and belongingness in the campus. 120 engineering students from various engineering streams participated in this five day learning program.


The program started with welcoming words from the host of the inaugural event Prof. Pallavi Dixit followed by ceremonial lamp lighting by Dr. Jyoti Deshmukh (Principal, SISTec-R) and eminent guests Dr. Nitin Kansal and Dr. Himanshi Gupta, who were the trainers for the five day program.

Dr. Jyoti Deshmukh (Principal, SISTec-R) and Prof. Kshitij Yugbodh (Head of Mechanical Engineering Department) welcomed the guests with a sapling as a token of appreciation for taking out valuable time from their busy schedule to conduct such an enthralling event followed by an address from Prof. Swajit Singh Goud (Head of Civil Engineering Department) on the importance of such an event that helps build student personality.


Dr. Nitin Kansal and Dr. Himanshi Gupta continued the program by conducting various interactive sessions during these five days, which was met with great involvement from all the participants.


The program culminated with a valedictory ceremony on the fifth day, hosted by Mr. Badal Bose (Corporate Trainer, SISTec-R), it initiated with ceremonial lamp lighting by Dr. Jyoti Deshmukh (Principal, SISTec-R) and Mr. Rahul Mishra (General Manager Administration, SISTec-R) in the presence of SELP trainers Dr. Nitin Kansal and Dr. Himanshi Gupta along with esteemed guests Dr. S.C. Choube (Coordinator TEQIP-III), Dr. Savita Vyas (SELP Coordinator) and Dr. R.K. Mishra. All the departmental HODs, faculty members and engineering students from all semesters were part of the gathering.

The guests were welcomed with a sapling as a token of appreciation. They addressed the gathering about the importance of such activities which works on student's interpersonal and soft skills development. The students who participated in this Five Day Learning Program shared their experiences and thanked the trainers and management for organising an event of such calibre.

Certificate of participation was distributed to all student participants during the ceremony and the guests were bid adieu with memento acknowledging their arrival in spite of their busy schedule.
